Prof. YANG is "Chutian Scholars" distinguished professor and recipient of Hubei Province "Hundred Talent Program". He received Ph.D. degree in microbiology from University of California at Riverside in 2005. He joined Bioenergy Science Center at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Research Associate in 2007, and then National Bioenergy Center at National Renewable Energy Laboratory as a staff Scientist in 2011. He joined Hubei University as a professor of Microbiology since 2016, and his research interest focuses on metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and renewable bioproducts. He has published 48 papers in prestigious journals including Nature Biotechnology and PNAS with a citation more than 1680 and H-index of 22. He also serves the scientific community as an editor of international journals such as PLoS ONE, Energies, Frontiers in Microbiology, Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, and Frontiers in Energy Research; and a reviewer for journals like Science, PNAS, PLoS Genetics, and Biotechnology for Biofuels.
